A fun, fast, freaky breaks track. I think it's breaks - I'm not really that familiar with the genre. Performed and recorded live to a stereo output.
Having a week off to focus on music was very nourishing and rejuvenating!

This is all Octatrack, baby! Well, I think the whole mix went through the Analog Heat.
I spent most of the week off tinkering with and learning the Octatrack. It's a very powerful tool that can do so many different things. Live sampling, looping, sample mashing, FX blending, MIDI loopback, whole song (and set) structuring....
I took a short breaks sample from an old Loopmasters zip I got with a Focusrite interface, about 8 years ago. I sliced it up in the OT, and each beat chooses a different slice, so the drums are different throughout the whole song. I think the bass and strings/pad are samples too. The vocal sample is a friend having a chat with me. Actually, the second bass sound that comes in later in the track is the Digitone going through the Analog Heat, which I recorded afterwards and mixed in. I recorded the original song and the bass into the master track of the Zoom R8, where I put a mastering effect on it. Mostly 3-band compression. I think it's still a bit too bass-heavy ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This wild experimental artist from Chicago uses electric kazoos, tape loops, and more to craft far-out, wonderfully confounding songs. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 15, 2021
A detailed reissue of Arvo Zylo's landmark 2010 experimental album, a nightmarishly brilliant landscape of startling textures. Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 18, 2023
Deeply chilling and absorbing experimental music from Angela Edwards that feels like a long plunge into a cold, dark expanse. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 12, 2023
